I used a plasma torch to cut mine out. I don't have a pic of how much I removed, but this was the area.

Pretty... That does look a little tight to try to fit a header with a 3" collector through... I like the shock mounts and finally a clear view of the rag joint. Do you have 5" front springs in your car? I know you have afco 100lb springs in the back. chevetteracing.proboards.com/thread/2415/5-coils My front springs are broken top and bottom so I'm still debating this. Really just depends on how much will need to be cut.

I am trying the 5" springs this year. There is to much modification to really do it to street car. this is a 5" x 9.5" 600lb spring. It looks a bit suspect, doesn't sit flat on the lower control arm, but i'm gonna try it. I did end up finding springs that will fit in the stock pockets easily, after I already got the afco's. Suspension Spring Specialists have 3" ID coil over springs in lots of heights and weights that will directly replace the stock springs, and are priced well.
