Hey it looks pretty good for a spray bomb job. I'm still pretty jealous of it. The 82 I had was blue with a flat black roof and hood. we couldn't get an even coat on either of those surfaces so I just painted it with a roller. I think it looked alright, better than the rusty crazing that the origional paint had.

I Swear patience is such a virtue! Stop the rattle can painting. Take some time and do some nice sanding and rust repair. Take the time to remove all the trim and mask the car in the Maaco parking lot. They do a urethane single stage for around $400. It will look so much better than a rattle blast. A spray can paint job may cost over $150 with all the primer and clear. That is a real nice 2 door car. I would trade my 4 door in a heartbeat (minus the drivetrain). Make it nice . It is however a really good rattle can job I must say.

Who bothers with clearcoat on a spray bomb job? Spray bomb jobs don't ever look good enough to clear/ I agree I wouldn't rattle can that Pontiac It looks too solid. My car was a giant rusty spiderweb with the front crossmember and floors rotted out. We Brush painted my first car. It burnt a quart of oil every 50 miles, Figured if there was that much smoke there should be fire somewhere,

I want to install a tachometer in this car, not good with electric shit but i just installed some foglights so i know the basics. Just need to know how and where to connect wire. nothing crazy just a simple tach. I know it will differ from what tach and who makes it but if someone could post pics or a video it would help a lot...Thanks

Green wire goes to the coil, the negative if I remember correct. White goes to the terminal labeled "Illum" on your fuse panel. Red goes to the terminal labeled "ACC" or "IGN" on your fuse panel. Black goes to ground.

Oh, and the coil is under the intake, behind the distributor.

Use a test light to find a "key on hot" power source. There is an accessory socket with a male spade connector on the fusebox that you can tag with a female spade connector.

Vacuum leak, anti dieseling valve/idle solenoid not adjusted right, choke stuck on high idle, just a few possibilities.

So i got my car to idle properly thank god haha . just sprayed it with some carb cleaner and looked at some tips on google. turns out that flap at the top of the carb( dont know what its called) was stuck in a position where it couldnt move to its full extend so i followed the cable it was attached to and there was this little "hammer" that was stuck, flicked that and now she puts. Everythings going great with it. Cant wait to rip it when get my N. Only taken it around the block a couple times. I know the clutch though just from taking it in and out from underneath its home under the deck.

How do you take out the back seats? the ones that fold down?(not sure if there are any that dont)

sorry not too great at explaining things. For the seat back there is one bolt down on the drivers side where it pivots. The seat bottom you can push down and un-clip the front edge, Then the back edge slides from side to side to remove.
Sorry if that wasn't much help, but once you get the seat back off it should be more obvious.
