Almost three months ago Marta Ruiz-Cuevas was appointed CEO of Publicis Groupe Iberia (Spain and Portugal), thus expanding her responsibilities as CEO of Publicis Groupe Mexico, a role she has held since 2018. In order to find out what her objectives are in this new position and what these first months have been like after the appointment, MarketingDirecto.com has interviewed Marta Ruiz-Cuevas, with whom we have also talked about the Power of One model under which she navigates Publicis Groupe and how the company faces the challenges posed by the pandemic. Furthermore, with the end of the year approaching, Marta Ruiz-Cuevas takes stock of this difficult 2020 , in which the advertising industry has suffered a hard blow, and tells us what Publicis Groupe is focusing on in the coming months . What has this new appointment meant for you and what have the first weeks of landing been like? This appointment represents an exciting challenge for me and a very important responsibility to lead the three markets that are so relevant to the group: Spain, Mexico and Portugal. You ask me how the landing has been in the first weeks, well I have to tell you that it has been "hectic."
I came with an agenda marked by commitments with clients, partners and with my team in Mexico and I have had to combine all that activity with resuming the connection with the agency in Spain. Especially, with the Phone Number List creative agencies, their clients and teams, which were more unknown to me than the media part, with which I have had the opportunity to work for more than 10 years and know in depth, having held leadership positions in the spent at StarcomMediavest Group. «I am discovering great capabilities in the agency teams and detecting many synergies» The truth is that it is being a very interesting process, because I am discovering great capabilities in the agency teams and detecting many synergies, not only between creative and media agencies in Spain, but also between both markets, between Spain and Mexico. What are your motivations and objectives as CEO of Publicis Groupe Iberia? The main challenge is to grow the group's business in Iberia and position its creative and media agencies at the highest levels of the country's agency ranking. We are going to do it by implementing the Power of One.
Under this work model, Publicis Groupe puts the customer at the center of the organization and offers them integrated and personalized solutions to solve their business challenges through communication strategies. It does this by making all of our talent available to advertisers: the best communication and strategy specialists at creative agencies, strategy and activation experts at media agencies, and all the Practices professionals, among whom we have specialists in the areas of data, technology, measurement, content, consulting and digital transformation of the group. By uniting all of them, in a modular way and adapting to the needs of each client, we are able to provide excellent service and contribute to the growth of our clients' business. This model is already tested and working successfully in other markets. Putting all Publicis Groupe agencies and professionals under the same management helps us to be better and put the best capabilities to work to meet the needs of our clients.
