During the Christmas period , Christmas stories are in fashion . When Blue Penna was born I also published a short story about Santa Claus, even if it was a bit particular: a dramatic vision of the famous character. And last year a longer story, still about Santa Claus, but mixing the character with Icelandic legends. It is normal for a blog to "decorate" itself in some way during the period of certain holidays, anniversaries, even seasons, to attract the curiosity of visitors. I will write something about seasonal posts later, because the discussion needs to be explored carefully.
Here I'm talking not about posts, but about Phone Number Data themed stories. Writing Christmas stories I don't like Christmas. Like no party, after all. However, we like to write and some readers, visitors, passers-by might want to read a Christmas story, so I wrote some. At Christmas, then, no one wants to read articles that are too technical and boring, academic, the mind is elsewhere, more relaxed. Therefore, publishing Christmas stories on the blog becomes a way of lightening the usual flow of posts and taking a little breather. This year, as I had already said, there are three consecutive days of celebrations – four, actually.
Sunday 23 December is, in fact, the day of the story here on the blog. Monday is 24th, Christmas Eve, and Tuesday is 25th, Christmas. Three days of mental rest. I don't count the 26th, always a holiday for you, because I don't have a story for that day either. Four Christmas stories together seem too many and then on the 26th Christmas is over. The three stories you will read focus on the characters known in the story Children of Winter , a fantastic and ironic tale. The first, entitled The Longest Night , will show us the preceding events, the second, The Delivery , starts from where Children of Winter ended and the last, An Affair , is its sequel.
