Hello Gang,
New here, and need help. I purchase an 83 Doo Doo Bronze 4 Door one owner with 29k Original Miles. The Owner passed in the early to mid 2000's. She only drove to the store church then home sinc it was purchased new in 1983.
Then it sat, and sat. When we moved it for transport 45 minutes the back glass shattered. We didnt know the extent of the degradation on all of the window seal. It seems to be a big issue with all Chevy Chevettes that sat for years.
The car supposedly starts if you prime the inlet. However, someone has broken the choke rod as seen in the pictures. I also have a blue wire and a small quarter inch black hose as two mystery issues. The interior is amazing except for the headliner. My questions are.....
Hatchback Glass
1. Anyone in or around Nashville,TN area could help me with Ideas of finding a back Glass used cheap. Im on a serious tight budget.
Carb
2. Take a look at my pictures, see the blue wire with the green connector. I have beat my head against a wall trying to figure where she goes.
3. How should I approach the choke rod and the broken area. remove the entire carb, or remove only the choke or try and slip a rod in there. Do you see anything else missing. a spring, I don't know how that happened. I assume a family member started messing with it and broke it?4. Black hoses under the breather. there is three in my picture. I know where the first two from left to right go, but that 3rd one, i saw it hanging when i was looking for where the blue/green wire goes.
headliner
5 yuk, the seals in the back where obviously failing at the top some moisture got into the particle board in the headliner. I was told to try and leave it and peel the stuffing and fabric. I started and brown nasty rotten foam started to fall like winter at the North Pole.
What is the easy fix or way to keep that foam from falling everywhere. tricks tips or hacks for the headliner is what I need.
Thank you everyone for your help! Its needed for this resto rookie.
