I joined to try to learn more about the specifics of what remains of a 1980 chevette under this 1929 Mercedes fiberglass replica...I would appreciate any information or anywhere anyone can direct me for more info in this type of deal - kit cars using chevettes.
I was first told that this was an Iron duke engine, but I have not read anywhere where a 2.5 engine was used in a chevette and I believe this was the only size the iron duke was mfgd in and only installed in Pontiacs.
I am currently working to repair the brakes..specifically looking for a master cylinder for this, but cannot find one exact with a bolt-on lid.
Also am working to find a fuel sending unit, but cannot seem to locate this exact one either.
Actually I guess I am not even sure if this is what they told me when a purchased it - that is a 1980 chevette!....so any help there is appreciated as well.
Come on you chevette masters!....I need to pick your brain please!
Guess I am a chevette rookie now....I remember them being born in 1956 and seeing these in the 70's and 80's but never worked on one or owned til now...I am pretty handy with cars in general being a mechanic in the 70's and 80' for about 15 years....so can get technical to a point I guess....
Thanks and fire away!...Please!
