Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, and a first time owner of a Chevette. I picked up a 1979 1.6l Chevette and have been working through minor issues here and there but the most annoying issue that I have not been able to solve yet is the horn. I have not really worked with any horn issues in the past, and it is tough to find info on Chevette's on the web, tougher than I expected anyway.
Here is what I know, the original horn works, tested it by hooking it straight up to the battery, in fact it works a lot better than I expected, sounds strong. Problem is when it is wired in I get no response when pushing on the steering wheel, the pin and spring in the column look okay to me, and the wiring all looks solid, and the fuse is good. What am I missing here? Any suggestions would be great!
try the horn relay under the steerin column. Try pullin the steerin wheel and going to the white plastic thing and check for the spring action and the little pin thing. ant other questions write to firstname.lastname@example.org
