Well been thinking about this and since we really got a good number on this page now. The time has come to see if we can get our rides going enough to have an annual meet!
Here is what I am thinking and see what you all think? Since I know several of us is still working on our projects and I am broke waiting on Social Security. I was thinking we have it next May 2nd and 3rd. What this does for us is gives us plenty of time for the people working on their projects (me included) to get stuff done and get prepared for the event etc. Also for people working to get time off.
As for locations, I was thinking National trail raceway in Columbus, Ohio. That would give the people who want to race can and the others who dont still be able to meet at the place big enough. Yes it may be small numbers but we could start something very fun!
We could have it for the 2nd (Saturday) and 3rd (Sunday) that gives us plenty of time to hang out and enough time for people to travel. Now this all depends on if the track is open and nothing going on that weekend etc but I could find out but we could just plan either the first or second weekend of May.
Maybe we can make this a sticky at top and make a post on the forums so we can plan it all out and see what kind of numbers we can get. We could even bring extra parts, cars etc to have a swap meet? So what do you all think? We could see how this goes and have another next fall or just have it every year if wanted!
What say you?

It's been talked about in the past on different forums, I think it's a great Idea, but nothing ever becomes of it, we seem to be a very small group of people scattered around North America. I'd be all in but I don't think I could talk my wife into packing up the kid and driving 12 hours in the heap of s#!t project car...
Sorry not trying to be discouraging, If somebody can make it work, and post up some good pictures online, I'll start planning for the 2016 meet.

I think the meet is a great idea but I have to agree our numbers coupled with the distance makes it not likely. What if we did a Cyber Chevette Meet. We designate a few hours on a particular day. Folks could post their latest photos an videos, sell and swap parts etc all while engaging in chat online. Thoughts?

Isn't there a facebook group for that? I think there still is but I'm not on facebook. I could be wrong, but it seems like there are a few Chevette owners in the Ohio area, Maybe you could start something locally and have it spread. Be sure to take a ton of pictures. Hopefully my car will be mostly rebuilt by 2016 Maybe we could represent at the Carlisle All-GM Nationals...
