Here are a couple shots of the rear end. It's a Dana 44 mout of a Postal jeep(1972-1975) these are a excellent fit! It is actually narrower then a Chevette rear end. Also ALL of these years of postal jeeps had 3.73 Posi in them! I rebuilt the clutch pack and Diff, had Moser Custom axels with a 5 on 4.5 patteren (you can get whatever patteren you like) I did move the axel flange in about 3/16" so I could use Drums off of a 1970 ford van and still use the jeeps brake shoes and backing plates. I used a modified 3 link with upper wishbone and air bags for springs, had the rear end and backing plates powder coated and toped it off with a T/A stud girdled rear end cover. i158.photobucket.com/albums/t101/fasthuhpat/rearend44b.jpg

Wow, I love it! Mine is a little more... hot rodish haha. I am going to look into the dj-5 rears, it'd definitely save me a ton of work.

There is always a few in the yards around here. How much do they ask for rear ends? I've never come across one in our yards here. If you grab me one I'll pay for it and give you the 1.6L I have for nothing lol.

I love the fact that LS engines are getting easier and cheaper to obtain. They are less than half as much as they were 5 years ago. It to the point that building a small block is pointless. I have a friend that got a LS3 from a Vette for $1800 with harness for his hot rod. Awesome engines for the price. I would have to say that an LS swap would be easier than an Ecotec swap.

I bought mine (dana 44)out of Tulsa Ok. At Harmons Off road. Think it was $125.00. CJ5's of the same years 72-75 have the same rear end but ratios and limited slip are options. The DJ5 were all shipped from the factory with 3.73 and Posi's.
