Made a short vid last night walking through a timing belt job on a 1.6. It's very easy on these cars.

when i was changing my cam seal i noticed the timing was set at 16 on the bottom and the hole lined up at the top, if i set it to 0 and align the holes will it damage anything???

No, it should be set to 0. If it was set to 16 your cam timing was off.

Just do what I did. Put the nail in the top pulley, align the bottom pulley to 0, then put the belt on.
Then you'll need a timing light. Loosen the bolt at the base of the distributor, point timing light at the timing tab, and turn the distributor until you reach the factory timing. Then tighten the distributor bolt down.

So I went to change my timing belt because it broke off. Problem is I need to get the crank pulley off so I can't change it. But when I try to loosen it, the crank just turns along with my wrench. How do I get this blasted thing off!

I used a pry bar on teeth and leveraged against water pump to get bolt off (with a friends help) I was changing pump also
