I just bought an 81 vette and it has a MONSTER pop/backfire from the exhaust, but only on decel when the trans is trying to spin the engine. It is straight piped so would that do it? Or is the carb running lean/rich? Or maybe a vacuum advance line or something? It seems to have decent power. I would also like to know the exact carb/tuning procedure on this motor so i can tune it properly and maybe eliminate some problems. Please help, i need this car as my daily.

I'm not sure exactly why but this blog is loading
incredibly slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a issue on my end?
